Rother & Hastings update

Rother Council planners are trying to respond to the pressures brought about by the Government’s new planning regime (NPPF 2018) by speeding up the process of their Development and Site Allocation Plan (DaSA).

CPRE Sussex is working with local groups to challenge the New Monks Farm developments. Chair, David Johnson, has written to local MPs alerting them to our concerns:

Stephen Hardy, CPRE Sussex Trustee, was among the objectors to an application to fell 71 trees at Beauport Holiday Park.

IKEA development struggling with viability

CPRE Sussex is urging Adur Council to think again over plans to build an IKEA and 600 homes on water meadows at New Monks Farm in Lancing after it emerged that the scheme’s predicted development costs have more than doubled, raising serious questions over its viability.
