Are you concerned about the traffic impacts of the proposed IKEA on the A27 between Shoreham and Lancing? Action urgently needed. IKEA decision shock

Last night (Oct 3 2018) in a controversial decision, Adur Council decoded by five votes to three to approve the New Monks Farm development. CPRE Sussex are calling on members of the public to urgently write to James Brokenshire MP, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government to review the decision by calling it in.

IKEA development struggling with viability

Written by CPRE Sussex

CPRE Sussex is urging Adur Council to think again over plans to build an IKEA and 600 homes on water meadows at New Monks Farm in Lancing after it emerged that the scheme’s predicted development costs have more than doubled, raising serious questions over its viability.

The Sussex branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England is urging Adur District Council to suspend its decision on plans to build an IKEA superstore and 600 new homes in Lancing following a formal request for government intervention.

An unprecedented open letter has been sent to Adur District Council urging it to cancel this month’s crunch meeting on proposals for a major new development including an IKEA superstore at New Monks Farm in Lancing.
