Government planning policy puts Sussex countryside at risk

Environmental groups have warned that new planning policy guidelines, recently released by the coalition government, are a threat to the countryside, ancient woodland and the character of rural communities.

The CPRE Sussex Environmental Awards have been created to increase intelligent discussion around environmental issues affecting Sussex, drawing the public's attention to them. By using emerging journalists, we want to also draw the attention of younger people to the work of the CPRE.

Climate change is now an undeniable fact of life, from the drought plaguing the South East and large parts of the country to the record-breaking April rains and the floods that followed.
