Volunteering for CPRE Sussex is “fun, rewarding and educational,” according to Lorna Train who organises the charity’s summer tours.

CPRE Sussex fights for a better future for the Countryside. We work locally to protect, shape and enhance our beautiful, thriving countryside for everyone to value and enjoy. Our campaigning aims to influence decision making on a range of environmental and land- use issues.

The Sussex countryside has never been under greater threat and we are now recruiting new volunteers to help with our vital work to protect it. CPRE Sussex is a small but highly effective charity which relies on a dedicated team of people bringing their skills and time to work with us in protecting and enhancing our beautiful rural landscapes. Join us in this important and rewarding work!

  • Reporting news from the districts by checking local media and council planning notices
  • Helping in our office
  • Researching hot topics, from fracking to farm stewardship
  • Helping us to help people threatened by inappropriate development - especially if you've an expertise in planning
  • Organising campaigns and reaching out to local activists
  • Helping run special events and projects
  • Helping with our media and communication
  • Fundraising
