CPRE Sussex is looking for a social media volunteer to help run our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. The job would involve working with our friendly team to update our pages with countryside news, views and photographs from across the county.
Social media experience is preferable but not essential, so please don’t let that put you off. The main requirement for this job is a passion for nature and the countryside and an enthusiasm for sharing news about the vital work we are doing. An interest in taking photographs would also be very useful.
CPRE Sussex promotes the beauty, tranquillity and diversity of the Sussex countryside by encouraging the sustainable use of land and other natural resources in town and country. We also encourage appropriate and sustainable land-use, farming, woodland and biodiversity policies and practice to improve the well-being of rural communities.
An important part of the work of CPRE Sussex is to raise awareness of countryside issues and campaign against threats such as inappropriate development.
As CPRE Sussex’s Social Media Volunteer you would be working with the Director to:
- Post updates and photographs on the CPRE Sussex Facebook page 2-3 times per week
- Tweet/retweet 2-3 times per week
- Choose/source and post beautiful images of Sussex on our Instagram page 1-2 times a week.
- Look out for influential organisations and individuals to follow and link with on social media.
- Help us to grow a social media support base.
- Join us at occasional events and post follow ups across social media.
Our Branch Office is in Blackboys, near Uckfield so you have the choice to either work from here or work at home. We keep in regular contact via phone and/or email to discuss progress and to provide support. You would also be encouraged to attend our media group meetings.
The role is voluntary although we pay reasonable out-of-pocket expenses with prior agreement, in line with our Volunteers Policy.
