Wealden South District Report Winter 2015

We opposed the construction of “solar farms” that we thought would be intrusive in the views from The South Downs. These solar farms are now being constructed; by the summer we may have a clearer idea of what their visual impact is.

Bizarrely at exactly the same time last Thursday, there were two very similar decisions being made about planning applications, one in Ticehurst by Rother, and one three miles away in neighbouring Wadhurst by Wealden.  

The application to build five houses and a further large structure at Spring Barn Farm was refused by South Downs National Park Authority Planning committee at their meeting on 9 April 2015.

Gray Wood campsite: Appeal dismissed

Following vociferous local opposition, and objections from CPRE Sussex's John Hurwood, the Planning Inspectorate has dismissed this appeal in favour of developing a campsite in ancient woodland near East Hoathley.
