CPRE Sussex would like to understand how the Covid-19 lockdown period has impacted on the environment. We have created a short survey to capture your thoughts and observations at this time.

CPRE Sussex writes to Chichester Council
Today (5th May) CPRE Sx Chair, Dan Osborn, wrote to the chair of CDC. He explained that developing a new local plan for Chichester, we want the council to set a realistic housing target that takes into account the local geography (protected landscapes and the impact of climate change) and the impact of Coronavirus, instead of accepting the ‘standard method.’
Climate change: Broadband not roads

The sound of silence? We want your views about aircraft noise
For the first time in a generation, our skies are full of the sounds of nature undisturbed by the noise of aircraft. The countryside charity, CPRE Sussex believes this rare glimpse of peace and tranquillity is a golden opportunity to gain a better understanding of how people really feel about noise pollution.
Farmers work closer together to care for landscape and wildlife

Mid Sussex District Planning update for CPRE Sussex members as at March 2020
Although Mid Sussex District Council (MSDC) can allocate sites for development, it cannot build the sites out itself and is therefore reliant on developers to deliver against the huge housing target for the District. In our last update we reported on the increasing backlog in the delivery of new homes within Mid Sussex district sufficient to meet the delivery target, despite the increasing number of planning consents granted. That is a growing problem.
Members survey
In the Autumn we sent our members a survey form. To ensure that CPRE Sussex is addressing our member’s priorities, we asked which five issues, from a list of eleven, you think we should concentrate on in 2020. Thanks to respondents to the survey – we very much appreciate the time you spent on it.
CPRE Sussex arrangements with respect to Coronavirus and Covid-19
During these troubling times the most important thing is the safety and welfare of staff, volunteers, supporters and the wider public. At CPRE Sussex we have been continuously monitoring the situation and making plans for business continuity and staff/volunteer welfare. We remain open for business but we are taking steps to reduce risks.
