Shoreham Herald, 9 Feb 2017, reported on CPRE Sussex's "strong opposition" to plans to build an IKEA and 600 new homes on a Lancing floodplain.

In an article published on 8 Feb 2017 the West Sussex Country Times writes: "Campaigners have warned that the government's white paper to 'fix the housing market' could jeopardise Sussex's unprotected countryside.

An article published in the Worthing Herald 16 Feb 2017, reports that, 'Plans to build an IKEA and 600 homes on a Lancing floodplain were opposed last Wednesday as councillors and developers debated the prospect of flooding in Adur.' The article includes strong arguments from CPRE Sussex and the Sussex Wildlife Trust pointing out that the development will substantially increase flood risk.
