Approval in 2015 of the Horsham District’s local plan, the ‘HDPF’, by the examining Planning Inspector, was conditional on the Council’s acceptance of his imposed interim-housing target of 800 houses per year, to be reviewed by Horsham District Council (HDC) by November 2018.

CPRE Sussex has raised concerns about a proposed tyre recycling centre in Warnham. Dr Roger Smith, representing CPRE Sussex, submitted a formal response which highlighted omissions in the application in relation to compliance with the West Sussex Waste Local Plan, and Horsham DC’s planning policies, air quality, vehicle movements and disturbance, noise, lighting, impact on wildlife and protected species and the landscape impacts. The application is due to be  decided by West Sussex County Council in December.

Despite a strong objection from CPRE Sussex, WSCC today (12th September) approved an application by KOGL for an extension to oil exploration at Broadford Bridge, West Chiltington Parish, Horsham District.. Dr Roger Smith spoke at the hearing  - his speech is below.

Britaniacrest Recycling Ltd has submitted further information about its proposed incinerator at the Former Wealden Brickworks, Langhurstwood Road, Horsham to West Sussex County Council.
