Frack Free Balcombe Residents association have issued a press release condemning the Environment Agency's proposals which "would do away with site-specific permits for many onshore ‘oil and gas activities’", pointing out that the new "standard rules" would "include a sinister successor to fracking: ‘acidising’, with hydrofluoric acid".

Over a hundred and forty Arundel residents crowded into the St Nicholas Hall to make sure that their parliament candidates heard their concerns and ambitions for the town and its surrounding countryside.
The event, organised by Arundel SCATE (the South Coast Alliance for Transport and the Environment), and CPRE Sussex, saw candidates from the main parties set out their stall on issues affecting Arundel. The hot topic of the evening being the proposals for a new Arundel bypass.

The application to build five houses and a further large structure at Spring Barn Farm was refused by South Downs National Park Authority Planning committee at their meeting on 9 April 2015.
