Adur & Worthing District Report: Winter 2013

The major issue here is the Adur Draft Plan.

The latest draft has just been published for final public consultation and reaction needs to be posted with the authority by 5pm 7th November 2013. I am up to my eyes in an objection campaign by all residents around the Lancing Shoreham Gap/flood plain and at present have little time available for anything other than that.

Bill Freeman (Joint district convener)

The buzzword for many is transparency although like many issues of the moment this comes in varying levels and I have been advised that planning issues can come under this heading.

With the help of CPRE the informant was able to deal and provide detailed information to enable a submission to be made. Have any other members found this to be the case?

I would like to thank Stanley Allen for his continued oversight of planning matters in the Adur area.

I still maintain a watching brief and still act as a point of reference and a sounding board for those members who raise issues of their concern.

The Adur Draft Local Plan has retained outline proposals for up to 600 houses on the New Monks Farm site in Lancing with consequences of threatening the strategic gap and increasing the flooding of that area which is a known problem.

This has been brought to the attention of local residents so please continue to submit your views and comments of the Local Plan.
