CPRE Sussex Outing to Follers Manor, 28th June

Friday, 08 July 2016 10:57

Nestled in the South Downs National Park near Alfriston is the beautiful garden of Follers Manor. Enjoying some unusually  fine weather we were able to marvel at the naturalistic planting and landscaping of a garden that was only begun in 2004.

Follers Manor Garden fits so well into the surrounding landscape and  cleverly uses locally sourced materials such as brick and  flint to create a garden reflecting its place in this part of Sussex. Our thanks go to Anne and Geoff Shaw for hosting the event and being on hand to answer a myriad of questions from our greenfingered members. Overheard from two visitors were  these  telling comments:  “I want one,” and “ I’m  going home to tell my husband he is going to have to make some changes to our garden.”
