Welcome refreshments will be served from 10am and the AGM will begin promptly at 10.30. Following the formal business, we are delighted to welcome:
- Prof David Goulson, Sussex University: a world leading researcher into bumblebee ecology and conservation and best-selling author of ‘A Sting in the Tail’ and ‘A Buzz in the Meadow’. David will present ‘Saving our Bumblebees’, followed by:
- Mr Ian Hilder, local genealogist. Ian will tell the story of ‘Edwardian Barcombe in Postcards’ showing how things have changed or perhaps stayed the same.
Finally, relax and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch (pre-booked) following which you may wish to join our ‘Three Barcombes & The Ouse Valley Ramble’ guided by John Harmer from the East Sussex Ramblers (pre-booked). This is a walk of about 3½ miles through a delightful part of the Sussex countryside; looking at history of transport routes and use of water. Those joining the walk will need suitable footwear for cross-field paths and clothing for the weather conditions at the time.
Our agenda for the day can be found belpw – please submit agenda items and nominations for the Executive Committee in writing to the Branch Office by Friday, 26th June. Details of persons standing for election/re-election will be published on this website.
