Cherry Ingram was the great expert on flowering cherries who rediscovered the great White Cherry in a Sussex garden after it had become extinct in its native Japan. This enchanting garden with an atmosphere like something from a children's story is less than a hectare but is crammmed with plants and topiary. In fact it is the stream of topiary that flows through the garden that holds the garden together and the way each of the plants in the garden grow dictates the shape of each topiary piece. There are a range of topiary birds and other animals but it is not all topiary and hedges. All year the flowerbeds are packed with plant treasures from nursery owning friends who own Marchant Hardy Plants.
