A27: Binsted Village and Strawberry Fair under threat

Highways England are ‘identifying options’ for a new Arundel Bypass, aiming to choose them by November 2016, for public consultation in spring 2017. One option cuts through Binsted village, and through the fields where the Strawberry Fair is held.

Campaigners A27 Arundel Bypass Neighbourhood Committee say that the road would have a negative affect on the village and its surroundings:,

  • It would devastate Binsted’s village, businesses & landscape.
  • It would destroy its peaceful beauty, enjoyed by many visitors for walking, cycling and riding.
  • It would fragment the best parts of the woods, which are all in the National Park.

They're asking people to sign their petition:

... and write to to their Parish Council, District & County Councillors, MP, Highways England and Secretary of State for Transport.
