CPRE Sussex has joined the South East Climate Alliance and is supporting the call for West Sussex Council to declare a ‘Climate Emergency’ at its Council meeting on 5th April 2019. The County Council makes hugely important decisions which affect the future for everyone in Sussex, from deciding planning applications for oil extraction and incinerators to building new roads. It is critical that these decisions are made within the context of climate change.

Nationwide, 30 councils have declared a Climate Emergency - most recently Portsmouth, Haringey and Plymouth, and now it is the turn of West Sussex County Council on 5thApril. CPRE Sussex will join fellow concerned community groups in the march to County Hall from The Cross, Chichester starting at 9.45am on 5th April.
