To apply please submit a statement of no more than one side of A4 outlining your interests and ambitions as a journalist, indicating how you would plan to use the fund during your course to investigate one or more issues and bring them to public attention.

The CPRE would also expect the award winner to wish to be actively involved in an aspect of the Branch’s work, this may also involve considering and developing ways we can reach out to new audiences.

For example working during the duration of the Course alongside:

• the editor in the production of our bi-annual publication the Sussex Review – see on our website at www.cpresussex.org.uk
• the web manager creating online content, maintaining a blog or twitter/face-book presence
• the director covering major events, interviewing and putting together material for the media, print or on air.

The £500 Award is open to all students studying on the One Year City College Journalism Brighton and Hove Course 2013/2014. (We would consider offering to split the Award to enable two students to collaborate over the year)
